Car insurance in South Africa generally comes in three forms: comprehensive, third party fire and theft, and third party car insurance. Each of these will cover you for different damages and events. They’ll also affect your car insurance premiums.
Then there's Sasria, a specialised insurance that most insurance companies charge as standard with your car cover. This covers you for events like unforeseen public unrest, civil commotion, strikes, riots, and terrorism.
This provides cover for just about any form of financial loss related to your vehicle, including car accidents, thefts, hijackings, fire damage, natural disasters, and damage to someone else's car.

It is quick and gives me options which makes Hippo a one stop gap for my insurance needs. I have done quotations before where if I do multiple questions my quote ends up inflated because of the number of quotations not by my risk profile with Hippo I get multiple quotations based on my vehicle and risk profile only. Hippo is the best

My experience with Hippo.co.za was excellent. The process was quick, simple and easy to understand. I liked that I could compare multiple insurance quotes in one place without having to contact each insurer individually. This saved me a lot of time and helped me make a more informed decision. The quotes were presented clearly, making it easy to compare premiums and excess amounts side by side. My favourite quote was from 1st for Women, as it offered competitive pricing and came from a trusted insurer with a strong reputation. Overall, Hippo made finding insurance stress-free and convenient. I would definitely recommend the platform to anyone looking to compare insurance options and find the best value for their needs. Thank you for a smooth and user-friendly experience!

Firstly, its the convenience thats provided for the user. One search, and multiple options , all just a screen tap away. Second- Probably the most important of all, the affordability of the services they list! A mere R150 will give you better sleep knowing your car is insured, I mean how is it so cheap ? Thirdly - i literally pressed down on the submit button on my selected insurance company, and before I could lift my finger off the phone screen, I was receiving a call from the insurance company! If that isnt CUSTOMER CARE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS! Keep it up, you Hippo's !
